Shipping Policy

This policy sets out where Thread & Tweed delivers, when orders are dispatched, the transit window that applies, the postage charged and how consignments are tracked. It forms part of the terms accepted at checkout.

Delivery area

Deliveries are made within the United States only. Street addresses, PO boxes and military APO/FPO addresses are all served.

International delivery is not offered, and consignments cannot be forwarded to an address outside the country by a third-party agent. Orders from outside the United States are refused at the border, so the delivery country should be checked before an order is confirmed.

Orders to Alaska, Hawaii and the US territories are accepted but travel on a slower service, which adds two to three working days to the transit window stated below.

Where an address falls outside the delivery area, the checkout refuses the order before payment is taken, so no charge arises for an order that cannot be dispatched.

Nothing in this section prevents a customer from asking Thread & Tweed to confirm whether a particular address can be served before an order is placed.

  • The delivery area cannot be widened after an order is placed.
  • Addresses outside the United States are rejected at checkout, not after payment.

Processing schedule

Orders confirmed before 2pm on a working day are picked, packed and labelled the next business day. Orders received after the cut-off, at a weekend or on a public holiday are dispatched on the next working day.

The warehouse operates Monday to Friday and does not dispatch on public holidays.

Each consignment is packed and checked by hand. Where a bulk or fragile item requires additional protection, dispatch may take one further working day; where that happens, the customer is notified by email rather than left to infer it from the tracking.

Dispatch estimates shown in the order confirmation are calculated on the basis set out in this section.

  • Cut-off: 2pm on a working day.
  • Dispatch target: the next business day.
  • Working days: Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Transit window

Standard transit takes 3 to 5 business days from the first carrier scan, counted in working days and excluding public holidays.

The scan, not the order time, starts the transit clock. A consignment collected on Friday evening therefore begins its transit on the following working day.

Rural routes, mountain districts and island territories normally fall at the upper end of the window because of additional sorting stages.

One national carrier handles every consignment. As a result, an individual consignment cannot be upgraded, re-routed or held at a depot for collection once it is in the carrier's network.

Where a consignment is delayed beyond the window by weather or carrier disruption, Thread & Tweed will notify affected customers rather than waiting for them to make contact.

  • Transit clock starts at first carrier scan, not at order placement.
  • Remote routes sit at the upper end of the window.

Postage rates

Standard postage is free once the merchandise total reaches $46 before tax. Below that threshold a single flat rate is applied at checkout.

No per-item surcharge, handling fee or packaging fee is added. Combining several items in one order does not increase the postage payable.

No express or next-day service is offered; all consignments travel on the same tracked ground service.

The threshold is assessed on the discounted merchandise subtotal before tax is applied.

Postage rates are reviewed periodically. The rate applied to an order is the rate displayed at checkout at the time the order is confirmed.

  • Free standard postage above $46 (pre-tax).
  • One flat rate below the threshold; no per-item charges.
  • No express tier is available.

Parcel tracking

A tracking number is issued by email once the carrier scans the consignment, normally within 24 hours of dispatch.

Tracking updates at each sorting hub rather than continuously, so a period without movement is not by itself evidence of a problem.

Where tracking has shown no movement for two working days, the customer should contact support@yvetteus.shop with the order reference so that a trace can be raised with the carrier.

The outcome of a trace, including a declaration that a consignment is lost, is communicated to the customer in writing.

  • Tracking is emailed at first scan, usually within 24 hours.
  • Contact support@yvetteus.shop if tracking is static for two working days.

Damaged, delayed or lost consignments

Where a consignment arrives damaged, incomplete or containing the wrong item, the customer should notify Thread & Tweed within seven days of delivery, attaching photographs of both the item and its packaging.

The outer packaging and any internal protection should be retained until the matter is closed, because carriers may request an inspection as part of a claim.

Claims are pursued by Thread & Tweed on the customer's behalf. Once a claim is confirmed, the customer may choose a replacement or a refund.

Where a replacement is unavailable because stock has been exhausted, a refund is issued and the customer is told directly rather than left waiting.

  • Notify within seven days of delivery for damage or error.
  • Retain all packaging until the claim is closed.
  • Replacement or refund offered once the claim is confirmed.

Address amendments

A delivery address may be amended while the order remains in the packing queue. Requests should be sent to support@yvetteus.shop with the order reference and the complete corrected address.

Once the carrier has scanned the consignment the destination is fixed; neither Thread & Tweed nor the carrier can alter it thereafter.

Where a consignment is returned because the address was incomplete, or because delivery was not taken, a second dispatch may be arranged. The cost of that second dispatch is borne by the customer.

Where the error originated with Thread & Tweed, the second dispatch is arranged at no cost to the customer.

  • Amendment is possible only before the first carrier scan.
  • A second dispatch caused by an address error is charged to the customer.
